Where To Eat In Lofoten Islands, Norway
What Lofoten lacks in options it makes up for in quality!
Top Recommendations Near Moskenes
2. Maritime Munchies' Fish & Chips Food Truck
I had wondered if this food truck came recommended simply due to a lack of dining options in the area. The answer was absolutely not! Fish and chips have no business being that good. It was the best we have ever tasted! There are two food truck locations - one near the ferry terminal in Moskenes and another at the end of the Lofoten road in Å. We at at the location in Å and the scenery was quite picturesque. It's worth noting that this business also has a restaurant named Krambua in Hamnøy. We didn't have a chance to eat there, but if the rest of their menu is as good as their fish and chips, then I fully recommend it!
3. Restaurant Gammelbua
This restaurant is one of the most popular in the area (advance reservations are necessary). While it wins a 10/10 for Lofoten ambiance and location, we thought the food was better at the first place mentioned above. Pictured on the left is cod fillet with green onion oil and mashed potatoes and pictured on the right is traditional dried fish with baked garlic potatoes, sautéed vegetables, and bacon.
4. Bringen (cafe)
This welcoming cafe had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well as an excellent view of the top of the mountains. The coffee was delicious and the location makes for a great place to fuel up before tackling Reinebringen - we enjoyed seeing the tiny silhouettes of people at the summit!
Top Recommendation Between Svolvær & Moskenes
Ramberg Resort & Restaurant
We stumbled across this place out of locational necessity on our road trip from Svolvær to Moskenes. Expectations were low since the restaurant is part of a campground, but we were blown away with our meal! The pan-fried grenadier was delicious and the homemade bread served before the meal was mouthwateringly good.
